Evonik. Innovative Solutions for the Chemical Industry

- Supported heterogeneous catalysts- Non-supported heterogeneous powder catalysts- Heterogeneous catalysts- Components and supports for catalyst manufactureOne of the world leaders in the catalyst market, Evonik offers innovative, unique solutions to its customers. Its product line comprises heterogeneous chemical catalysts based on supportedprecious metals and non-supported activated metals (Raney process), catalysts for continuous processes (fixed or fluidized bed) and components used in the manufacturing of catalysts for olefinpolymerization.

Evonik offers customized services to its customers related to the coordination and control of the complete cycle of precious metals, their recovery and refining. With production units, catalyst application and development laboratories spread all over the world (Brazil, United States, Germany and Japan), in addition to research centers in Germany and China, the company offers products to the agrochemical, rubber, polymer, pharmaceutical, flavor and fragrance segments, to name a few.
Evonik (former Degussa) started its activities in Brazil in 1978, in the city of Mauá (São Paulo). In 1981, stemming from the need to expand its facilities, the company transferred its production to the city of Guarulhos, in the Great São Paulo. In 2001, its facilities were transferred to Americana, in the interior of São Paulo State, where other reactors were installed to further increase production capacity. Relying on a highly specialized and qualified team, Evonik, in a partnership with its customers, develops solutions and services on demand, according to their requirements.

Chemical Catalysts

PMPC –“Precious Metal Powder Catalysts”
Supported heterogeneous catalysts typically used in fine chemicals and in the synthesis of pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals, among other applications. They are applied in slurry-like reactions, in batch and semi-batch modes. Major applications: selective hydrogenation, hydrogenolysis, dehydrogenation, oxidation, etc. They are manufactured in Americana (São Paulo, Brazil), Germany, United States and Japan.

ABMC – “Activated Base Metal Catalyst”
Non-supported heterogeneous powder catalysts, based on activated metals – nickel or copper (Raney process). Applied in slurry-like eactions, in batch and semi-batch modes. Major applications: selective hydrogenation, hydrogenolysis, hydration, among others. They are manufactured in Germany.

CPC –“Continous Process Catalysts”
Heterogeneous catalysts for reactions in fixed or fluidized beds taken place in continuous processes. Often applied in large-scale roductions. Major applications: hydrogenation, hydration, dehydration, oxidation, etc. They are made in Germany and in the United States.

OPC – “Olefin Polymerisation Catalysts”
Components and supports employed in the manufacturing of catalysts for the polymerization of olefins (supports for Ziegler-Natta catalysts and additives for tacticity control), used in the production of Polypropylene (HDPE) and Polyethylene (PP).
They are manufactured in Germany.
